Birmingham councilors agree on 2010 budget proposal

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham city councilors agree on a 2010 budget late Thursday afternoon.

The document will force the city to dip into its savings account by $10 million in order to avoid proration in any city departments.

All non-profits will be cut by 20%.

Although councilors feel Langford will veto their proposal,  they willl send this version to him to review, and hopefully approve.

If not, councilors must have 6 votes to override the mayor's veto.
