Building a Dome Stadium at this time would be like buying a "new" car just as your house was going into foreclosure. Yes, it would be a nice addition to the city but all the other cities that have built them did so in better economic times. Also, if it is built too small to attract some of the sports then that would be like buying a Corvette for a family of four !

My comment is if Larry Langford would like to leave a good thought for himself he ought to turn all that loose money he's got loose and flush the whole bunch down that sewer line. Football tried to come to Birmingham, hockey, nothing has made a success. Who is going to support a domed stadium
Having a domed stadium in Birmingham is a wonderful idea. However, I really don't understand why should we spend millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars on something that serves no purpose. There are no professional teams playing here in Birmingham. Monies used for a domed stadium should be spent on projects that would make our local economy stronger. During these tough economic times, we should not believe in the saying: "If you build it, they will come." We should work harder to fill our current venues to capacity before we waste taxpayer money on a gamble that we can't afford.
