No delay for Langford, Blount or Lapierre

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford will go to trial at the end of next month. A judge has denied his request for a delay in his corruption trial.

Langford, along with investment banker Bill Blount and lobbyist Al Lapierre are named in a 101-count indictment. The charges include conspiracy, bribery, fraud and false tax returns. The judge denied the delay for all three defendants. The trial date is scheduled for August 31st.
