Etowah County theft arrest

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Gadsden man has been arrested in connection with stolen trailers and lawnmowers in Etowah County.

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said Alex Christopher Howard, 40, of Gadsden, has been arrested and charged with three counts of second degree theft of property and one count of first degree theft of property -- all felony charges.

Investigators said Howard was part of a theft ring stealing utility trailers, push and riding lawn mowers and weed eaters in the Altoona, Attalla and Boaz areas.  The stolen items were taken out of Etowah County to Albertville and Kilpatrick where they were being sold.

Howard was detained at the Etowah County Detention Center.
