BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -- A homicide in Birmingham has been ruled a Justifiable Homicide by the District Attorney's Office.
On Wednesday, the District Attorney's Office declared that 31-year-old Latonya Conner of Birmingham was defending herself during a domestic incident.
Police were dispatched on Saturday to #2 4th Court North in Birmingham to investigate a report of a domestic argument. Officers found the victim, 28-year-old Cleve Clements, in the bedroom floor of the apartment that he shared with Conner. Clements told the officers he was suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to UAB Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

To date, thirty- six (36) chargeable Homicides have been reported in the City of Birmingham during 2009, compared to forty-three (43) at this time in 2008.
Homicide #36: Occurred on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at approximately 2:00 a.m., at #2 4th Court North, Birmingham, Alabama.
The victim has been identified as:
Cleve Clements, 28, B/M, of #2 4th Court North, Birmingham, Alabama.
Officers from the North Precinct were dispatched and responded to the incident location on a report of a domestic argument and fight. Upon arrival, officers located the victim lying on the bedroom floor who stated to officers he was suffering from stab wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived and transported the victim to U.A.B. Hospital. The victim later died as a result of his injuries.
