Suspected rapist wanted in two states captured in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Louisiana man accused of using handcuffs and a stun gun to rape college students is in jail in North Alabama after his arrest following an intense manhunt.

Police caught James Crockett, Jr. after a high speed chase Monday night ended in a crash on Interstate 65.

Crockett is charged with rape and attempted rape in Mississippi and Louisiana.

Police in Hattiesburg tell FOX6 News that Crockett has waived extradition.  Officers are on their way to the Morgan County jail to pick up Crockett and search his vehicle.
