Swine flu threat not over

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Area doctors are warning parents the threat of Swine Flu isn't over, and they need to be especially cautious about sending their kids to summer camps.

They say when kids are in close quarters it is easier to catch and spread germs.

At last count, there have been 123 confirmed cases of swine flu in Alabama.

Including at least 3 cases in Jefferson County.

Doctors say the best thing is to practice good hygiene like washing your hands, covering a cough and avoiding traveling at all if you are not feeling well.

Birmingham Pediatrician Dr. Keith Stansell says best advice for parents is to be smart and cautious.

He says parents shouldn't panic because Swine Flu is very treatable.
