More money for City Stages

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The City of Birmingham has voted to give City Stages an extra $250,000 for the event that starts this Friday.

The music festival has been in financial trouble for the last 10 years, according to George Mcmillan, City Stages founder and president.

The $250,000 is on top of $300,000 that was already given to the event.  McMillan says the lack of money comes from a lack of corporate tickets being purchased this year.
