BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Wednesday will be a gorgeous day with a stronger southerly wind. Highs will again reach the upper 70s to lower 80s. No rain is expected until Thursday late afternoon and evening.
During most of the day Thursday, we’ll have dry weather with few clouds. The best chances for rain and storms will arrive after 5 p.m. in west Alabama and continue through the evening hours.
First Alert for Strong and Severe Storms Thursday: A dynamic and strong system out west will advance east during the day on Thursday. We could see a few showers in the morning and afternoon hours, but the bulk of the rain will likely move into central Alabama after 5 p.m.
New data is suggesting the primary threat will be damaging winds with a limited tornado potential. Our high resolution data is indicating most of the instability will remain farther to the south. This developing weather situation needs to be monitored, but if this trend continues it would be good news.
