BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The Pinson Valley football team was honored Tuesday afternoon after finishing No. 74 in the final Max Preps high school football rankings.

After losing its season opener to perennial powerhouse Hoover, Pinson Valley reeled off 13 consecutive victories capped by a 26-17 triumph over Saraland on Dec. 7. The Indians captured their second straight Alabama 6A state championship.

Pinson Valley is one of 50 football schools being honored on the 14th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard.

Pinson Valley football team honored

MaxPreps ranks nearly 17,000 varsity high school football teams. Pinson Valley’s 15-0 state championship team in 2017 was also part of the Tour of Champions last season.
