TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - We all strive for perfection; in the work place, our personal lives, in everything. The same goes for athletes in sports, doesn’t matter the game, perfection is the ultimate goal.
Recently a UCLA gymnast, Katelyn Ohashi, scored a perfect 10 in her floor routine. The video of her performance went viral with more than 38 million views.
At the University of Alabama the Crimson Tide gymnastics squad is always working toward that perfect routine. “A perfect score is attainable,” said Bama head gymnastics coach Dana Duckworth. “However its not something a gymnast should strive to do, it should just happen. I remember as a gymnast that when I tried to go score a 10 that’s when I usually did my worst. and I have scored a 10 a couple of times, including my final routine on the beam of my college career.”
As social media goes crazy over a gymnastics routine scoring a 10, that perfection is something all gymnast strive to earn, but only a few ever actually attain.
