B’ham Iron offers second chance for a Florence, AL native

Birmingham Iron training camp

SAN ANTONIO, TX (WBRC) - The Birmingham Iron, of the Alliance of American Football, continues to work at training camp to prepare for the teams first ever game on February,10 at Legion field against the Memphis Express.

The Iron is into its second week of camp. They are looking to find players that can fill the team’s roster. On defense it looks like Beniquez Brown, out of Florence, has moved to the forefront as that unit’s leader.

“Coach Lewis has put this role on my shoulders,” said Brown. “I want to be the guy my teammates can depend on and make plays to help this team accomplish what we want to accomplish, and that is wins games and get better as players."

Brown played collegiate football at Mississippi State and was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
