Homewood investigating random shooting that could be linked to others

Random shooting into car in Homewood

HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) - Homewood police are investigating what appears to be a random shooting.

The victims were turning onto I-65 from Lakeshore Parkway around 11:45 Wednesday night. That’s when someone in another car fired three shots into their vehicle.

No one was injured.

Police says there were multiple people in the suspect’s car. They describe it as a dark gray or black Nissan Altima.

Homewood police say they are working with the Metro Area Crime Center to determine whether this shooting is linked to two other apparent random shootings from last week.

Just after midnight on January 3, a 14-year-old girl was grazed by a bullet when someone shot into her family’s car on Old Springville Road. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office, the suspects were traveling in a dark-colored four-door sedan.

Then only about 10 minutes later, 28-year-old Carltez Clark was shot and killed on Parkway East. Police say someone traveling in a black mid-sized car fired shots into the car Clark was a passenger in.
