SAN JOSE, CA (WBRC) - Alabama defenders respect Clemson first-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
“He’s very extraordinary,” defensive lineman Quinnen Williams said. “He can do it all. He can throw it deep down field, he can make the short throws, he can make the checks, he can run when he needs to run. He’s a very balanced quarterback.”
Lawrence has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound true freshman took the quarterback job from Kelly Bryant, who led Clemson to last year’s CFP.
“Whenever Kelly Bryant left and Trevor Lawrence became their starting quarterback, that’s when everyone knew that he was going to be their guy,” said linebacker Dylan Moses.
Alabama and Clemson kick off Monday at 7 p.m.
