Fairfield's Damon and Damien Miller talk about signing with UAB

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - UAB head coach Bill Clark and his staff recruited well in the background and it showed Wednesday.

The Blazers, a day after winning their first bowl game in program history, signed five players in the Birmingham area.

UAB received 16 total national letters of intent Wednesday on early signing day, including from twins Damon and Damien Miller from Fairfield Prep.

Both brothers play safety, while Damien (right in the interview above) is a 3-star recruit, according to 24/7, and Damon (left) is a 2-star.

The Miller twins were joined by a pair of players from Thompson, Jayme Simmons and Will Conner.

Simmons is a 3-star offensive tackle with size. He is listed at 6-foot-5, 270 pounds. Conner is a 3-star inside linebacker.

Will Connor signs with UAB

Connor isn’t the only local inside linebacker who picked the Blazers. Jackson-Olin standout Jammal Abrams is also officially headed to UAB. Abrams is another big player, listed at 6-foot-2, 245 pounds.
