BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Hundreds of sneakers, socks and coats were given out Saturday to help people without a place to call home this holiday season.

Saturday marked the third annual ‘Saving One Sole at a Time.’ Customers donate shoes, socks and coats to give out to the homeless community in the 5 Points area.

This year, Shoe Clinic partnered with Alexander Shunnarah, Personal Injury Attorneys. They were able to give out 70 brand-new coats.

“Amazing. Just seeing the reaction from some of the people who have received the gift is amazing. Just being able to give them a good shoe, a good sole and then clean socks. We take that for granted,” said Shoe Clinic co-owner Alvin Miller.

Miller says the event keeps growing each year. They were able to help 250 people Saturday.
