BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - I hope you’ve enjoyed the gorgeous cool, sunny and breezy weather today. Temperatures have slowly climbed into the lower 50s with cold air moving in from the north. We can expect some chilly temperatures tonight and overnight with lows falling quickly after sunset.

FREEZE WARNING: Much of our viewing area is under a freeze warning for Sunday morning. Expect overnight lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s with frost likely. It will be a good idea to protect tender plants and of course make sure the pets are taken care of.

VETERAN'S DAY: Sunday will be mostly clear during the morning. We will see increasing clouds during the afternoon with highs in the lower 50s. There is very little rain in the forecast. The models are trending much drier for the afternoon.

INCREASING RAIN CHANCES: Expect widespread rain to move into the area after midnight tomorrow. Temperatures will remain in the mid-40s. There is a 100 percent chance for rain on Monday along with some chilly temperatures. Highs will only reach the mid-40s during the afternoon. Most of the rain will move out on Tuesday leaving us with clouds and cold temperatures. Highs will reach the lower 40s

COLDEST AIR OF THE SEASON: Bitter cold air will arrive Tuesday night. Expect lows in the mid-20s. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-40s. Expect sunshine on Thursday and Friday with highs in the 50s.
