BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The general election is less than a week away, but today is the last day to apply for an absentee ballot.

All applications must be either hand delivered or mailed to the Absentee Election Manager by close of business. There is a manager for each county in Alabama. Read a list of manager addresses and names here.

Voters eligible:

  • will be absent from the county on election day
  • have a physical disability or an illness that prevents them from going to their polling place
  • are register voters who lives outside of the county
  • work a required shift of 10-hours or more during polling hours
  • are an appointed election officer or poll watcher at a place other than their polling place

Ballots have to be postmarked by Monday, Nov. 5.
