Rain chances climb Saturday morning

First Alert Weather 9pm update 10-19-18

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Rain is still to our west tonight with showers moving in overnight and through Saturday.

A FIRST ALERT for a wet start on Saturday. Scattered showers are likely during the late morning hours and ending southeast during the afternoon. It should be dry after 1pm for areas along and north of I-20 if you plan on going to an outdoor event. Skies look to clear at night and the weather will be refreshing for the UAB game. If you plan on staying up late or waking up early on Sunday morning to view the Orionid Meteor Shower then plan on bundling up because temperatures are going to dip into the lower 40s.

A FIRST ALERT for patchy frost across north Alabama on Sunday and Monday morning. Temperatures as of now don’t look cool enough in central Alabama for a frost threat but if you have sensitive outdoor plants, you might want to consider bringing them in.

I’ve added more clouds to the forecast on Monday along with moderating temperatures through mid-week.

Our next cold front and rain maker arrive on Thursday and then we will see small rain chances on Friday and Saturday.
