Hurricane evacuees remain in AL

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - It has been a week since Hurricane Michael devastated the Gulf Coast.

Some evacuees have returned home, but many remain behind.

"A week feels like a month," said Kegan Davis.

"Yeah especially when you can’t go home,” said Renee Davis.

The Davis family has been living in their RV after evacuating from the Panama City area.

Kegan is on active duty at Tyndall Air Force base, which was beat up pretty bad during the Hurricane.

"They’re saying that the base hopefully will come back from this and the mayor is very hopeful for that as well. So we’re hopeful that is the case,” said Davis.
