BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The sky is finally clearing tonight with new model data suggesting a few areas will fall into the upper 40s north of I-20. Temperatures will quickly warm after sunrise on Thursday with highs reaching the lower 70s by 3pm.
We will see increasing clouds on Friday with temperatures around 77 during the afternoon. The best chances for rain will come late Friday night into Saturday morning. If you're heading to a high school football game, it looks like the rain will hold off until after 10pm.
College football games in Birmingham, Tennessee, and Mississippi will likely avoid most of Saturday's rain. The best chances for rain are during the morning hours. Expect decreasing rain chances after noon with temperatures in the upper 60s. Sunday will be cooler and drier. Overnight lows will fall into the lower to mid 40s Sunday with a few locations in the northern portion of our viewing area falling into the upper 30s. Sunday will be mainly dry with highs in the mid 60s.
