UAB wins record-setting 9th consecutive home game, defeats Charlotte 28-7

UAB has won 9 straight home games

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - “The Return” has written its way into the UAB record books again.

UAB defeated Charlotte 28-7 to win the Blazers record-setting ninth consecutive home game, spanning back to the 2017 season opener.

Quarterback A.J. Erdely led the Blazers offense with 214 yards on 13 of 16 passing and 21 yards rushing. Erdely had a passing and rushing touchdown. Erdely completed passes to eight different receivers, with Andre Wilson and Collin Lisa being his favorite targets. Wilson led the team with 67 yards on two receptions and a touchdown. Lisa led the team with receptions, recording 56 yards.

Spencer Brown continued his role as the Blazers' leading rushing threat. He had 68 yards on 18 carries and added two touchdowns.

The win moves UAB to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in C-USA. The Blazers travel to Louisiana Tech next week for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
